Organizing information on layers
 |
LAYER |
|
|
|
LAYER has same meaning with transparent sheets of manual drawing. After you draw associative entities on several different sheets, you overlap all transparent sheets.
If you use LAYER, you can handle the display of specific entities and change the attributes like read-only in order not to modify them. You can print them out partially.
The LAYER that is most on upside among all layers is called as ¡°CURRENT LAYER¡± or ¡°working layer¡±.
(1) Execution
Menu : Setting ¡æ Explore Layers or Tools ¡æ IntelliCAD Explorer
Command : EXPLAYERS or LA ¡¡
(2) You work with a drawing that is separated into layers of solid line, center line and hatching line

¢º Draw solid line to ¡°0¡± LAYER, hatching line to ¡°HAT¡± LAYER and center line to ¡°CEN¡± LAYER.
In order to do that, you first make ¡°HAT¡± and ¡°CEN¡± LAYERs.
: LA ¡¡

¢º Firstly, after selecting ¡°New Item¡± button, input new LAYER name as ¡°HAT¡± and ¡°CEN¡± repeatedly.

¢º In order to set the color of solid line as BLUE and hatching line as RED, select the color in the color table after clicking ¡°COLOR¡± in the LAYER. In addition, you can set the linetype of center line as ¡°CENTER¡± line by cliking ¡°Linetype¡± in the LAYER.

(3) So far, preparation for drawing using LAYER is done. In this step, you actually draw entities by using LAYER.
¢º First of all, in order to set ¡°0¡± LAYER as ¡°CURRENT LAYER¡±, you draw solid lines on the screen after you double-click ¡°0¡± in ¡°Layer Name¡± of the LAYER dialogue box.

¢º In this step, in order to set ¡°CEN¡± LAYER as ¡°CURRENT LAYER¡±, you draw center lines on the screen after you double-click ¡°CEN¡± in ¡°Layer Name¡± of the LAYER dialogue box.

¢º In this step, in order to set ¡°HAT¡± LAYER as ¡°CURRENT LAYER¡±, you make hatching lines on the screen after you double-click ¡°HAT¡± in ¡°Layer Name¡± of LAYER dialogue box.

(4) You make LAYER and draw entities layer by layer. And you learn how to make LAYER ON/OFF and THAW/FREEZE.
¢º FREEZE and OFF
FREEZE and OFF are commands for hiding specific LAYERs of the drawing on the screen. They are used to show only specific entities in complex drawings.
¢º In order to OFF or FREEZE LAYERs, click ¡°On/Off¡± or ¡°All Viewports¡± of each LAYER

¢º When you execute OFF or FREEZE of ¡°HAT¡± LAYER, hatching lines are disappeared on the screen
